Smith Hill Productions generally works with a three-person team: Janet Boynton serves as director and interviewer; and a professional cameraman and a sound engineer provide the technical support. Most location videos are shot with Sony UVW Betacam Camcorders which produce broadcast quality footage. Extra B-Roll is recorded on DV-Cam and still photos shot with a Nikon D-70.
Programs are edited on a Media 100 non-linear editing system. The system allows us to capture images at low or compressed resolution, edit and apply effects in real time, and then recapture and conform at high resolution. This gives us the capacity to record up to 20 hours of original material and then edit this down to an appropriate viewable program without any loss of quality.
We can provide the finished product in either Beta SP tape format or on DVD disks. We can also convert programming into flash FLV files with the Sorenson Squeeze codec for streaming over the web for use by your website designer |
